Transformation Directors:

Kerri Markle

Bio coming soon!

Karen Ingram-Johnson

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a simple step.” -Lao Tzu

Karen is an integral part of the HouseCharming team. She has a bachelors and Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Fortune Builders Mastery training. Karen chose HouseCharming because she has “always been interested in architecture and design and was looking for a career change.”

Karen has a love for helping people, she stated that she “work[s] with children from low-income families and saw firsthand the stresses caused by homelessness and living in sub-standard housing. Through real estate, I can combine my love for design with a desire to help others.”

She joined the HouseCharming team because she wanted a career change that could provide financial security for herself and her family that can allow her to travel for work and pleasure. Karen says that the most rewarding aspect of HouseCharming is to work with her friend and business partner, Kerri and to see beautiful transformations of deserving homes.

When Karen isn’t busy with house transformations, you can find her spending time with her family, traveling and indulging in personal development and volunteering.

If she could travel back in time she would “go back in time to when I purchased my first house in Calgary in 1995. I would buy 9 more and 10 in the US!”

VP of Fund Development

Jon Lamont

“Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced every day.” – Jim Rohn

From an early age, Jon knew he was an entrepreneur. He says “I am a serial entrepreneur.  It is in my genes and it is a major passion of mine. As they say, ‘if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life,’ I couldn’t agree more.” Jon’s business education has derived from hands-on experience and trial-and-error. He has had strong mentors in his life that have shortened his learning curve.

Jon became involved with HouseCharming because real estate is a great vehicle for entrepreneurs and investors. He shares that “two of the biggest mentors in his life have taken the real estate path, therefore, HouseCharming was a no-brainer.”

Jon says, “Life happens to people every single day; divorces, lost jobs, money shortages, among numerous other things, which can happen without warning. Such events can affect lives for many years. At HouseCharming, we believe that everyone should have an opportunity to get out of these situations. We provide homeowners with that opportunity.  Giving homeowners a better option is the most rewarding aspect of HouseCharming.”

When Jon isn’t busy with HouseCharming, he spends his time with his family. He also enjoys traveling, watching and playing sports, and going out to the mountains with his snowmobile. If he could travel back in time he would visit the middle ages and participate in joust competitions. He says to think about the movie “A Knights Tale” and that is where he would be.

Public Relations & Communications Team:

Gillian MacDonald

“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like the most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.” – Audrey Hepburn

Gillian demonstrates a passion for communications, enthusiasm and strong work ethic. She is working towards a bachelor in communications in public relations at Mount Royal University. Before Mount Royal, she attended the Vancouver Island School of Art completing courses in photography and art history. She hopes to join her photography and passion for communications in her future career of public relations.

Gillian was brought onto the HouseCharming team after working with Kerri on a different project, and she immediately fell in love with HouseCharming. Gillian says the most rewarding aspect of working with HouseCharming is “the people [she] gets to work with and to be in a creative and positive atmosphere.”

Outside of school and HouseCharming, you can find Gillian spending time with family and friends, exploring Calgary and indulging in a great cup of coffee. If Gillian could travel back in time she would “be in the 50s, for the fashion and lifestyle.”

Karlierae Lipsit

“Rise and rise again until lambs become lions.” – RobinHood

Karlierae is a student at Mount Royal University, currently earning her bachelor of communications degree, majoring in public relations. She joined the communications team at HouseCharming in 2017. Having previously worked with Kerri, Karlierae was thrilled when she was asked to be a part of the HouseCharming team.

Karlierae says, “I love working with Kerri, and I love the concept of HouseCharming and what it brings people. I was so excited when she asked me to join the team.”

For Karlierae, the most rewarding aspect of HouseCharming is the excitement it brings to the clients. She looks forward to adding a communicative aspect to the business and building stronger relationships between the company and its clients.

When Karlierae isn’t working or studying for school, she loves to spend her time with her family, reading a good book, or binge watching her favorite Netflix shows with her roommates.

Karlierae says, “If I could time travel, I would go back in time to when my parents were growing up. I’ve always wondered what life was like for them at my age.”

Serena Heerema

“Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth.” – Mallory Hopkins

Serena is a recent addition to the communications team at HouseCharming! She is currently working towards her bachelor of communications, majoring in public relations at Mount Royal University.

She chose public relations because she loves to work with people and “I love that what I do makes people’s lives a little easier.”

Serena became involved with HouseCharming through her volunteer experience with Breast Cancer Supportive Care Foundation, where Kerri asked her to come aboard.

Serena says, “I love that HouseCharming trusts my abilities to write blogs for them every week. It’s an honour that they consider the suggestions we [the communications team] make and truly let us feel like we are part of the team!”

In Serena’s spare time you can find her creating beautiful paintings, playing volleyball and crafting. If Serena could travel back in time, she would be in the era, “where ball gowns and royalty were. Fingers crossed I’d be on the wealthy side though.”
