Karen is an integral part of the HouseCharming team. She has a bachelors and Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Fortune Builders Mastery training. Karen chose HouseCharming because she has “always been interested in architecture and design and was looking for a career change.”
Karen has a love for helping people, she stated that she “work[s] with children from low-income families and saw firsthand the stresses caused by homelessness and living in sub-standard housing. Through real estate, I can combine my love for design with a desire to help others.”
She joined the HouseCharming team because she wanted a career change that could provide financial security for herself and her family that can allow her to travel for work and pleasure. Karen says that the most rewarding aspect of HouseCharming is to work with her friend and business partner, Kerri and to see beautiful transformations of deserving homes.
When Karen isn’t busy with house transformations, you can find her spending time with her family, traveling and indulging in personal development and volunteering.
If she could travel back in time she would “go back in time to when I purchased my first house in Calgary in 1995. I would buy 9 more and 10 in the US!”

From an early age, Jon knew he was an entrepreneur. He says “I am a serial entrepreneur. It is in my genes and it is a major passion of mine. As they say, ‘if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life,’ I couldn’t agree more.” Jon’s business education has derived from hands-on experience and trial-and-error. He has had strong mentors in his life that have shortened his learning curve.
Jon became involved with HouseCharming because real estate is a great vehicle for entrepreneurs and investors. He shares that “two of the biggest mentors in his life have taken the real estate path, therefore, HouseCharming was a no-brainer.”
Jon says, “Life happens to people every single day; divorces, lost jobs, money shortages, among numerous other things, which can happen without warning. Such events can affect lives for many years. At HouseCharming, we believe that everyone should have an opportunity to get out of these situations. We provide homeowners with that opportunity. Giving homeowners a better option is the most rewarding aspect of HouseCharming.”
When Jon isn’t busy with HouseCharming, he spends his time with his family. He also enjoys traveling, watching and playing sports, and going out to the mountains with his snowmobile. If he could travel back in time he would visit the middle ages and participate in joust competitions. He says to think about the movie “A Knights Tale” and that is where he would be.
“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like the most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.” – Audrey Hepburn
